Since I'm on Scottish instrumental outfits this fine day, here is my new favorite Mogwai song, a song from an album I've had for years but only now has this song touched me. The power of Mogwai once again. Imagine how shocked I was as well to find that these deep tracks from songs ten years old now are still regarded and found on youtube. This is an amateur video from Chile and not the first Mogwai amateur video on the Space Station either. Is it Mogwai's music that makes these videos so good? I don't know. The strength of the band's reserve is so overlooked in a world full of hooks and choruses overdone. I think what strikes me about this song now is how it transcends structure and just IS. I'm probably talking to myself about that but hell, I wish I appreciated this song when I first heard it five years ago.

Love this movie. That's probably the most obvious statement. Still, one of the greatest moments of my young filmic life was showing this to and having the Station Agent approve of this movie at the time when I felt I was alone in thinking it had any worth at all. I recently watched it for six hours straight on a rotation. This may be too much, but these blogs ARE the arenas for this type of openness. I feel David O Russell here. Seeing this allows me to believe in my own awareness. I find it funny to think that I have been in Russell's place here and have felt guilty for it. These actors man, they are cattle, I don't care what people think of that. They need to be corralled. Making movies is a war and sometimes your own troops turn to the other side. I bet most watch this and think "good lord, relax, is it worth that." I say "yes."

Next time I'm hitting Russell's level of commitment. Thank you Russell.
